Hello Beautiful Have you been feeling tired and sluggish recently? Wondering where all your energy has gone? Is the lack of sunshine getting you down? Perhaps you’re starting to feel the festive pressure mounting or even just not feeling quite like yourself. This time of year always feels a bit harder to stay motivated and energized – in the past I would have easily reached for mounds of mince pies, lots of creamy puddings and maybe a chocolate bar or 3. The result? I gained weight. I certainly didn’t feel better, I just felt even more sluggish, groggy and tired. I would get at least 3 or 4 colds over the winter and I just felt absolutely rubbish. But ever since I started including green smoothies and juices into my diet things radically changed. When I first started drinking green smoothies, the thought of drinking spinach and kale made me feel rather queezey – in fact it put me off for quite a long time. It wasn’t until I understood just how much benefit they bring to me that I started to get really quite excited about how much better I could feel. I wasn’t wrong. It takes about 30 hours for the microbes in your gut to change and after that I started to feel so much better, lighter, calmer, more energy and so much less bloated. After a week I had lost 4lbs and then it was pretty consistent. But the weight loss was certainly just a side-effect. The main difference was the lack of sluggishness and feeling so much leaner and healthier. I now have at least one green smoothie per day. Most days I have one green smoothie and a green juice per day and I then know I’ve covered all my bases and my cells are happy. I’m happy.
