Hey there beautiful! I've been thinking a lot lately about my home and how safe it is for my little for my family. Toxins are a buzz word at the moment, but I'd like to share with you why you should care about them...
These toxins affect our nervous systems, hormones, sleep and make us feel on edge and anxious.
As a nutritionist, I am very aware of the impact that toxins are having on our bodies – but as a human being I am also very aware of the impact that toxic relationships have on our bodies and souls too. Many of these toxins come in through our food by products made in large factories by companies whose main goal is to make money. Most of the time they don’t care about their end user – we are simply consuming their products to line their pockets. I am a rebel and I’ve had enough of living with so much toxicity. These toxins are stopping us, our children and even our pets from living our best lives. The thing is, we must become aware of where we are allowing these toxins into our lives and take action to stop the cycle. So what can we do about it? Let’s start simply 1 – Turbo Charge Your Kitchen: Swap your chemical cleaner for a non-toxic one. DoTERRA Lemon, On Guard and Lavender or even Wild Orange oils with white wine vinegar and water are incredible for effectively cleaning the whole house. 2 – Body Wash: Your skin is full of fantastic bacteria that works with your gut to promote healthy skin, immune and hormone function. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t actually have to wash those amazing microbes off every day. So the rule here is Pits and Bits only! Use a natural, chemical free body wash or natural soap. 3 – Liver Help!– Your body uses your liver to remove toxins from your blood. If your liver is overburdened then you will have a backlog of toxins floating around your body with nowhere to be dumped. Help your liver by reducing processed food, reduce oil and start adding in a lemon water every morning, drinking lemon balm tea and lots of green smoothies. 4 – Your Air: The air quality in your home will change over the course of the winter months. We tend to open our windows less and rely on our heating to warm the air. A good tip is to fill your home, especially where you sleep, with these plants recommended by the RHS. You can also use doTERRA “Air” oil in your diffuser and will help your breathing and seasonal threats! And lastly but not least 5 – Relationships. Now, this is a biggie and I won’t be able to do it justice in one paragraph – BUT the people we choose to have relationships with affect our thoughts, our feelings and our soul. So, I’d like you to: - write down and think about the 5 people you hang around with the most. This can be at work, at home or socially. - Then I’d like you to reflect on how these relationships make you feel. Are they uplifting ones? Are they soul-satisfying ones? Do they have your back? Do you have theirs? Who we have relationships with reflects our internal emotional landscape. They are our mirrors and this is important if you want to grow and heal as they give us the best clues of what needs healing and loving. So once you’ve identified how these relationships make you feel, I’d like you to take 100% responsibility of your own role in creating them and decide what you’d like to do about it. Yes it’s scary and no you don’t have to just drop them like they’re hot, but I encourage you to start noticing what is being reflected back to you. Once you spot it you got it, and then you can change it if you want. You got this! Always with love Dawn xx p.s. if you'd like a free 30 minute nutrition and essential oil consultation, please DM me today! ❤️
