“Pizza Face!” This is what they used to call me at school. Let’s face it, kids at school aren’t always the most heart-centered. Each one is riddled with self-esteem issues and are learning what it means to be them.
What we look like always feels so important and so how your skin looks, whether we are strong and independent women or not, matters.
It’s also a sign of how healthy we are on the inside. So here are some tips for anyone who suffers or has suffered with acne, eczema, psoriasis or any sort of inflammatory skin condition. INSIDE SOLUTIONS: 1 – Ditch Dairy. It bogs down the liver with toxins which show up on your skin (not to mention those poor cows). 2 – Ditch the refined sugar. It reacts with the lymphatic system and for those of us with skin issues it can cause cysts, breakouts and chronic itching. (p.s. for most of us it also causes bloating). 3 – Eat TONS of FRUIT. Bananas, apples, grapes, watermelon, oranges etc. They’re all anti-inflammatory and are amazing for the skin. 4 – Eat TONS of leafy greens.Greens are full of liquid sunshine and are regenerative for the skin and the soul. 5 – Add Garlic. It's great for killing any unfriendly bacteria in the body, lymphatic system and liver. 6 – Drink Lemon Balm Tea. Also amazing for helping your immune system and is very calming too. OUTSIDE SOLUTIONS: On top of the skin it’s really important to stay away from any nasty chemicals. Most of us with sensitive skin are very sensitive to nasties. I LOVE using essential oils, especially DoTerra ones as they are the purest around. I use: Frankincense: The oil of Truth is anti-inflammatory. Lavender: The oil of Calm is fantastic for scars, stretch marks, blemishes, rashes and great for cell renewal. Geranium: The oil of love is an anti-inflammatory, relaxing and a beautiful tonic. Also you can dab this on your heart chakra too. Oregano: The oil of Humility is designed to kill of bacteria and any infections in the body. You can use these oils directly on the skin except for oregano which must be diluted in some fractionated coconut oil, or my favourite: jojoba oil. These oils are plants, just like the food we need to be putting in our bodies. At our very core these oils are from the earth just like we are – so they are like an extended version of ourselves. I love that idea! Lastly, I want you to repeat the following mantra every single day: - I AM Comfortable with my Body, Within and Without. Now I’d love to hear from you: 1 – Which Inside Solutions can you commit to? 2- What’s one thing that you can do to move towards loving yourself more, just the way you are?
