Such immense grief – and even though this isn’t happening to me in this moment, I can certainly empathise.
So I shed a few tears, I say a prayer for them and I accept that as a Sensitive Soul I feel compassion and love for someone who I don’t know – but I know what heartbreak feels like. It’s not just other people’s grief that pulls on my heart strings – there are many things that do. It can catch me unawares too! From seeing a Facebook post about a cow being separated from its calf, to stories where people help each other in their time of need. I know it’s important that I manage my environment. Make sure that I am kind to myself when I see these things, and know that they touch my heart. I will make sure that I do allow myself to cry and I do spend a moment saying a prayer. Compassion is key. I also know that it’s those of us who are touched deeply by others and our environments who feel utterly compelled to help. To instigate change – and that’s powerful stuff. There’s not enough compassion, empathy, caring and loving in our society at the moment and I do believe that the antidote to war and hatred is empathy. Perhaps you’ve experienced something today that’s made you feel. Please celebrate that. Perhaps you’d like to say a small prayer for those you know who have also lost a child - or simply let them know they are loved 💛
