Them: But its ok for you, you’ve found your passion, your reason for being! I don’t think I have that inside of me! Me: I hear what you’re saying but 3 years ago I didn’t know I had this passion inside of me either. Them: But I don’t think that I have that inside of me. I just don’t feel it. I feel disconnected. Me: Yes, you do. I’m certain of it. Let me explain to you how I found mine… The thing is, what you have inside of you is special. Unique and absolutely incredible. you may not see it yet but I assure you its in there. It needs to come out. You need to find it. This isn't about doing what society tells you you should be doing, its about tapping into what your heart wants you to do. Its likely to be something you've been pushing to the back of your life for a long time but deep down you know its there. I started off by asking myself the following and then writing the results on post-it notes: How do I want to feel? What are my core values? What am I going to do today to feel the way I want to feel? These are the questions that underpin everything that I do day to day. Everything single thing. I got a dictionary and started to think about the words that came to mind. Love. Gratitude. Helping. Connection etc I thought about the feelings I want to feel in my body, in my life and in my relationships. After a while I came up with 5 core values and feelings and made a big board out of them and wrote them in my planner. I did this so I could see them, refer to them and carry them around with me all the time. Then I asked myself: What is it that people thank me for? What are my strengths? What, as a child, did I love love love doing? More post-it notes, more reflection and more connection to who I am. Then once I’d gathered all of those together I started to see patterns. Food for thought: I ask you, what’s the point in having goals if you’re not sure how you want to feel along the way and when you get there? These questions started to unlock the true feelings I want to feel in my life. Next, I started to pick and choose the opportunities that presented themselves to me which reflected those feelings. I realised that healing; food; helping others; joy and calm were so fundamentally important to me that I started creating what I’m doing now. And let me tell you, I love it. I love it so much. I was speaking to a lady I’m working with the other day and she mentioned just how infectious my passion is. That made me happy. Being of service makes me happy. What makes you happy? What’s your passion? I dare you to make 2016 about finding your passion. Finding out a bit more about who you are, what your unique talents are and bringing them to life. Remember, the goal is to feel good. P.s: I want to hear your thoughts, feelings and values. Leave a comment and tell me how you're getting on and what you're doing** Much love Dawn xo
