Today’s message is for those amongst us who are more sensitive than the average bear.
You know who you are because you feel things more deeply, you probably take on other peoples energies and want to help others a lot too. You’re sensitive to noises, smells or tastes and you’ve probably been told before “ you’re too sensitive!” Or “don’t be so sensitive!”. This is a message for you deep thinkers and feelers: Your body is your home. You may have often felt like you’re body is alien to you, it’s too big, too small, to round, too tall, too sensitive, too sick, too much... I have often felt in the past that my body was against me, that I couldn’t trust it, that it was too sensitive, not normal, wouldn’t react the way other people’s bodies would. I would look at others and wonder why I had cystic acne, fertility issues, low energy, wheat, dairy and sugar intolerances and more! God! Why couldn’t I just be normal!! And then one day I realised the secret: my body was trying to communicate to me. It was trying to say: hey I need you to accept me and love me as I am. Yes I am sensitive, yes I can’t eat certain things and be a certain way but I need you to work with me rather than against me. And from that moment I slowly started to respond to my body as if it was my friend, a little girl inside of me who needed nourishing, nurturing and caring for like the most precious gift. I started to listen and respond and it became a journey back to myself and loving the parts of me that felt too much and unloveable. I knew she needed water, plants, fruit and sunshine. I knew she didn’t do well at all with refined sugar, wheat, dairy and meat. Yes I did mourn the loss of those foods - because like many of us I thought I should be able to eat anything - even the mass produced toxic stuff... without side effects. This works too for our sensitive children. My son had a day last week of eating what he wanted to and the following day he was so grouchy, on edge and he looked uncomfortable. Food is massively powerful. It impacts our wellbeing so deeply that within 24 hours we can feed ourselves calm or feed ourselves unbalanced and anxious. It is a powerful tool to use. For those of us who are sensitive, we have an even greater responsibility to our bodies since they react even more loudly to foods and thoughts that are out of balance. #Tool number 7 The greatest gift we have to connect back to ourselves is our bodies. They hold so many answers and to listen and honour it’s messages is deeply profound and for some is part of the act of spiritual awakening. So today I’d like you to do two things: 1- start your day off with a smoothie. Below is a recipe with easy to get foods at this time. Reduce the amount of processed food, sugar and alcohol you consume and you’ll cope much better with being stuck at home. 2 - get out your trusty journal and on a clean page write at the top: “dear body”. Then write as much as you want to. Talk to your body and say what you want to say. You may feel like grief, anger or sadness comes up. That’s normal. We have to let those feelings out and accept them before we can move on. then write: “Dear You” and just start to write. These are messages that you’re body is trying to communicate with you. Aim: Our bodies are sacred. The deepest and most profound life experience is to be in communion and connection with your body. She loves you so much but needs your help. Let’s start to listen.
