Dear Mama...

Dear Mama,
​

I’ve heard you say so many times “ I don’t have time”. 

I know what it feels like to have more activities, chores and work to do in one day that you can fit into one week. 

Oh the overwhelm! The tiredness and that deep feeling of not being good enough!

I get it.

For the longest time we have all been living in an unbalanced masculine energy which has focussed on targets, comparison and filling every moment of every day with tasks. 

We have judged and compared ourselves on our output and how much we’ve achieved. We’ve pitted ourselves against our fellow mamas and it’s been exhausting and crushing.

This energy has burned us out… we haven’t been able to keep up with these ridiculous goals and it’s left so many of us feeling second best, low and not good enough. 

We are tired and overstretched.

But here’s the best news you’re going to hear today: the tides are changing. 

Oh boy (girl) are they!

Inside us all (yes, you men too!) is the answer. 

Inside us all is this incredible need to add REST into our daily lives. 

Do you know why? 

Because when we REST we access our intuition, strength, healing, energy and sacred wisdom. Life has a natural flow and when we rest we can tap into this energy. 
To rest is the total opposite of disease (dis-ease)… it’s the most amazing moment when we get to connect to change, growth, expansion and Love.

To bring these unbalanced male energies into balance, we have to bring in the balanced feminine energy. We have to STOP PUSHING, and start allowing ourselves moments of rest.

Every. single. day. 

As mothers we carry the mantle of being the role models of this feminine energy and role modelling it to our loved ones. But first we have to practice it ourselves. No preaching what we’re not doing! #authenticity. 


So can rest look like? 


Here are some of my favourite options:
  • 1. Turn your phone off and go for a walk in the park / nature / beach (Mother Nature). 
  • 2. Don’t push. Every time you feel like you’re pushing, stop it. Stop it right now…. and breathe. 
  • 3. Have a delicious cup of cacao or a cup of tea. 
  • 4. Practice yoga / tai chi etc.
  • 5. Put your feet on grass / sand etc.
  • 6. Meditate. 5 minutes *is* enough. 
  • 7. Sit in the car with no distractions whilst baby is asleep. Close your eyes and breathe. 
  • 8. Take a bath with essential oils and Epsom salts
  • 9. Do what makes your heart sing…. 


So I know you’re going to say you feel guilty doing it, but I’m going to say (with love) “tough shit, do it anyway”. 

Why? Because we’ve got no choice anymore, we have to create more Love.
