If you pause for a moment and think about this… if your liver isn’t working properly then you may become vitamin deficient, lack any energy, got lots of colds and have a back up of toxins in your blood which will very likely affect your brain and gut and their functioning.
Our liver is also the organ which processes many of our emotions - especially if we are actively working on cleaning ourselves of toxic thoughts and feelings (and people!).
The beauty of the body is that it is always striving to become healthy. Given the right conditions it could even reverse any issues that you’ve been having.
So what causes the liver to go wrong?
There are 4 main points you need to consider:
1 - What medicines and / or hormones are you taking?
The liver can only do so much detoxing, and when there’s a backlog it’ll no longer be able to do its job properly so will back up these toxins into your blood, brain and heart.
2 - How much oil are you eating?
The number 1 cause for type 2 diabetes isn’t sugar… it's a fatty liver.
A fatty liver stops the liver from being able to filter - like a fat ball in your drainage system. This stops the body from being able to use the glucose properly and then you get massive blood sugar issues.
You might not think that you’re eating too much oil, or intact that oil is healthy! In many cases this is a lie - and I would recommend you remove all oil from your diet and see if you feel better for it. (guaranteed you will, and your liver will thank you for it).
3 - Are you struggling to lose your spare tyre?
One of the number 1 signs of a fatty liver is not being able to shift your spare tyre. Once you remove oil you will be amazed at how quickly your midline slims and the weight shifts.
4 - How much processed food are you eating and drinking?
Processed food is designed to keep you overfed and under nourished. This is also true for the effect it has on your liver. These foods are normally full of toxins, oil and refined sugar - all of which your liver struggles to deal with.
This includes excess alcohol.
Did you know that potatoes are one of the greatest foods on earth? YES! But did you also know that they’ve got a bad wrap, not because of being a potato but because they’re normally fried, cooked, baked in oil.
So what to do about it?
1 - Eat whole, plant-based foods
2 - Remove oil from your diet and see what effect it has
3 - Remove processed foods from your diet
4 - Reassess with your doctor whether you need to be on those pills / hormones
5 - Drink lots of lemon water
