In this scene, Luke and Yoda are standing in the dark swap where they’ve been training when a strange look comes over Luke. He points towards a dark cave at the base of a giant tree and, looking at Yoda, he says, “There’s something not right here…I feel cold. Death”.” “Yoda explains to Luke that the cave is dangerous and strong with the dark side of the Force. Luke looks confused and afraid, but Yoda’s response is simply, “In you must go”.” At the end of the story, Luke goes into the cave only to have a fierce battle with Darth Vader, only to find that once he’s cut his head off that actually it’s Luke’s own head starting at him from the ground. It can feel dangerous to confront ourselves with the truth but if we have to own our stories and our feelings if we’re to grow and move on. One of the things I've been rumbling with for the last couple of weeks is this intense feeling of self-doubt that comes up often for me to work on. So when it does this is what I do first: One of my favourite questions for uncovering the truth in any situation: The story I’m Telling Myself Is:_____________________________ We're always telling ourselves stories, for example mine is around second guessing everything I do because of being a recovering perfectionist as well as having lived with low self-esteem for most of my life. BUT no more! These are the most perfect times to rumble with our stories, see what's behind them and break FREE!! So what story are you telling yourself today? xx
