Diving deep into my human mess is what has given me liberation, freedom and lightness. Diving into the depths of my emotions and feeling them all.
It gives me the opportunity to meet myself, my friends and family soul to soul.
What I’ve realised is that even though for years I thought that these emotions/ behaviours were the worst parts of me, causing me immeasurable pain... they’re actually my gifts.
You can learn so much from your pain, but the trick is to turn into love. Loving every part of yourself that you don’t like.
Write a list of 5 things every day that you really don’t like about yourself.
For example, when I started this process I didn’t like my scarred skin.
I thought the scars were ugly... so I wrote that on my list: ugly skin.
Then I wrote as much positive stuff about my scars as I could think of, like:
- My skin has led me to help others with skin conditions.
- It has helped me to love myself unconditionally.
- To accept that beauty shines from within.
- Helped me explore the world of nutrition to heal my body.
- That I wouldn’t want a relationship with someone who only cared about my complexion.
- Cultivate an attitude of gratitude.
So now it’s your turn. Every day for 5 days and see what happens...
